Microsoft Outlook is a popular email program widely used by companies and private organizations. It comprises advantageous features like scheduling emails, creating new meetings, making new appointments and tasks, suggestive compose and replies, sharing calendars, effective task management, search function, and much more. Microsoft Outlook is a proactive email service that provides everything a user could need to obtain a productive emailing experience. In the case where you end up seeing the ‘Outlook search returns no results’ outcome, try running the Windows search troubleshooter. To perform this task on your Windows 10 device, click on the start symbol located at the screen’s bottom-left corner. Select Settings from the options and further select the Update & Security option. Moving on, select the Troubleshoot option and then click on Search and Indexing. Finally, run the troubleshooter to fix the problem.
The next solution to fix Outlook search issues is to verify the index. First, click on Outlook to launch it, and then click on the search box when it opens. Select the Search Tools next and Indexing Status after that, all from the search menu. A new dialog will open with the title of Indexing Status, and it should say, “Outlook has finished indexing all of your items. 0 items remaining to be indexed.” Click on OKOK to close. However, if there are items left, wait for them to complete. If they don’t seem to move at all, move on to the next step.
Another solution to our problem is to rebuild the search catalog. To do so, exit Outlook and open the Windows control panel. In the control panel, locate and open Indexing options where you will find the advanced tap – click on the tab. You will now see the Rebuild option in the Advanced Tab dialog box. Click on the Rebuild option and select OKOK. Finally, close the tab once it is done.
In case Outlook search not working concludes as “Outlook search returns incomplete results” when you search for an email using the search function, follow the steps below to resolve it.
If the emails you are searching for are located in deleted items folder, it causes the above-mentioned search error. Include this folder in your search results by opening outlook and clicking on the file to further select Options. In the options segment, select Search and then select the checkbox for Include messages from the Deleted Items folder in each data file when searching in All items, and click OKOK. Finally, restart Outlook to check if the error is resolved.
Outlook displays 250 search results by default; if you wish to increase this, try the following steps—open Outlook and then select files. In files, click on the Options option and then select Search. Now clear the Improve search speed by limiting the number of results shown checkbox and click OKOK. Lastly, restart Outlook to check if the problem is resolved.

FIX: OUTLOOK SEARCH TAB IS GREYED OUT
If you cannot access the search tab in the first place, you are required to follow the solutions given below. Please note that these instructions apply to Windows 10 only.
Right-click the start symbol at the bottom-left of your screen and select Apps and Features from the pop-up menu. Select the Microsoft Office Outlook and then select Modify. In the window how would you like to repair your Office Programs, choose Online Repair and then click on Repair? Wait till the repair is complete. The system will repair itself, and it should lead to Outlook working accurately.
